Offerings to Ma Kali

Sri Sri Kali Puja is the annual festival of our Ashrama. Since1917 we have been celebrating Kali Puja with due éclat. Preparation for arrangements starts from much advance. Untiring endeavour of our students, staffs and monastic brothers give Ashrama premises a festive look during Kali Puja. Worship of the Divine Mother Kali accompanied with devotional songs (Kali Kirtana) continues throughout the whole night. The joy of the students knows no bound. To the ex-students, it is a must-attend festival. Around 2500 to 3000 ex-students and devotees take prasada.
A book-stall with a good collection of books mainly belonging to Scriptures and Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Literature and photos are displayed for sale at a moderate price on this day.
An exhibition portraying various aspects of service and social works rendered by our Ashrama and life and teachings of the Holy Trio Thakur-Maa-Swamiji are presented for devotees.
Immersion of goddess Kali takes place in the next day’s evening. After the immersion a cultural programme with a very light-hearted spirit and joy marks the end of the ceremony.
